What are the main differences between an outdoor display and regular TV?
Specifically designed to withstand the elements and be used in outdoor spaces. Unlike regular TVs or displays , they are built with features to resist rain, snow, dust and extreme temperatures.
Here are some key characteristics of outdoor displays:
- Durable construction: They are typically made with weatherproof materials like stainless steel, reinforced plastic, and anti-glare screens.
- High brightness: Outdoor displays need to compete with sunlight, so they have much higher brightness levels than indoor TVs, typically in the range of 1,000 to 3,000 nits.
- Waterproof rating: An Ingress Protection (IP) rating is used to indicate the level of dust and water resistance. Outdoor displays usually have an IP rating of at least IP55, which means they are protected from dust and water jets from any direction.
- Temperature extremes: Outdoor displays can operate in a wider range of temperatures than indoor TVs, typically between -20°C to +60C°.
- Sun protection: The screens are often treated with an anti-reflective coating to reduce glare and improve visibility in bright sunlight.
