Manufacturer Overview
Save Prep Time Before Setup with NFC Function (1)
NFC function (1) allows you to prepare your projector for installation and setup at the event site when AC power is unavailable or when OSD projection isn’t possible. Just place your phone on the NFC decal to connect, and use the Smart Projector Control (2) app to read and write settings such as Projector ID and IP address. Projectors can be prepped for immediate network connection and setup the moment power rolls out on the installation site, saving time and resources. After the event has concluded, projector settings can be reset to factory defaults while unplugged, an action that used to require OSD menu projection.
(1 Projectors sold in some countries or regions require an ET-NUK10 Upgrade Kit available from PASS to activate the NFC function. See NFC Regional Compatibility List for details.
2 Check device compatibility at the App Store or the Google Play store.)
Flexible Screen Adjustment via Remote Control
Free Grid lets you easily fix image distortion caused by uneven projection surfaces or objects on flat or curved screens using the projector remote control. Reshape the image by adjusting control points or V/H lines on an overlaid grid. Select from various grid resolutions between 2 x 2 and 17 x 17 lines depending on the precision you require. Work progress is saved automatically, and grid and control-point colours can be changed for best visibility over the background image.
Preactivated Upgrade Kits for Geo Pro (1) Software
REQ12 Series ships with preactivated licenses for upgrade kits that come bundled with our free Geometry Manager Pro (1) software. ET-UK20 Geometry Manager Pro Software Upgrade Kit expands the software’s functionality and adds sophisticated edge-blending, colour uniformity, and masking tools. ET-CUK10 Auto Screen Adjustment Upgrade Kit uses data from a connected camera (2) to automatically calibrate edge-blended areas by adjusting their brightness, colour, and black level, saving you the time and hassle of manual calibration.
(1 Visit PASS to register your projector and download free Geometry Manager Pro software for Windows (upgrade kits included). Visit the Panasonic Geometry Manager Functions webpage for more information.
2 Compatible cameras comprise Nikon D5200/D5300/D5500/D5600/D7500. Use of the Auto Screen Adjustment function with these cameras requires installation of the Auto Screen Adjustment Plug-in (a free camera driver available from PASS). Use of the Auto Screen Adjustment function with D7500 requires Geometry Manager Pro Ver. 6.1.10 or later and Auto Screen Adjustment Plug-in Ver. 5.1.10 or later.)
Quickly Find the Correct Projection Angle
Laser projectors can be installed at any angle through 360° to map images over floors, walls, and 3D objects. However, adjusting the projection angle to match the one specified in the design simulation can be tricky, especially if the projector is difficult to reach. REQ12 Series features a gyro sensor that detects changes to the projector’s body pitch and roll angles and displays the information graphically in the OSD settings menu. Installers no longer need assistance to check the projection angle as the body is adjusted. They can view the on-screen graphic and adjust the projector angle as necessary before securing the unit.
Note: The displayed values are based on the results of angle sensor detection and may differ from the actual angle representing the posture of this projector. The displayed values are for reference only, and accuracy is not guaranteed.
New Cabinet Design for Reliable Operation
Dust-Resistant Optical Engine and Liquid Cooling System
REQ12 Series features an optical engine and laser light source module compliant with the IP5X Dust Protected (IEC 60529) (1) standard, eliminating the need for an air filter and enabling 20,000 hours (2) of maintenance-free projection. Reliability is proven by accelerated dust-chamber testing in significantly dustier conditions than those in which some competitive products are tested. A refined liquid-cooling system enables continuous operation in dusty environments with significantly lower noise levels than the previous series, ideal for quiet spaces such as museums. In addition, the stylish new cabinet design blends unobtrusively into the space to minimize distractions.
(1 The dust-proof performance of this unit is not guaranteed to be free from damage or failure under all conditions (environment with conductive dust, etc.). Please use an enclosure in environments with smoke containing oil, salt, and moisture.
2 Around this time, the light output will have decreased by approximately 50 %. IEC62087: 2008 Broadcast Contents, NORMAL Mode, Dynamic Contrast [3], temperature 30 °C (86 °F), elevation 700 m (2,297 ft) with 0.15 mg/m3 of airborne particulate matter. Panasonic recommends a checkup at the point of purchase after about 20,000 hours. Light-source lifetime may be reduced depending on the environmental conditions. Replacement of parts other than the light source may be required in a shorter period. Estimated maintenance time varies depending on the environment.)
Highly Reliable Multi-Laser Drive Engine
Multiple laser modules are equipped with our unique Failover Circuitry technology. In the unlikely event a single diode fails, Failover Circuitry continues to supply electricity to the functional diodes in the series, minimising brightness loss. If the same issue were to occur in projectors without Failover Circuitry, all diodes in the module might shut down, resulting in a significant loss of brightness.
