Frequently Asked Questions
All you wanted to know about large venue commercial projectors
What is a large venue commercial projector
A large venue commercial projector is a type of projector that is designed for use in large spaces where large bright images are required such as auditoriums or museums. Commercial projectors are typically a lot brighter, heavier and physically bigger than standard office projectors. They also offer a much wider range of features and connectivity.
Can you change the lens on a large venue projector?
Unlike office projectors, the vast majority of large venue projectors have a fleet of optional lenses from ultra short to long throw available for purchase. This means you can achieve your desired image size regardless of the environment of projection distance. Bear in mind most large venue projectors ship without a supplied lens so you will need to factor in the cost of the optional lens in your budget
What are some of the drawbacks of using a commercial projector?
Large venue commercial projectors are considerably more expensive than office projectors. They are also much larger and heavier than office projectors, making them more difficult to transport.
What is the difference between native resolution and supported resolution?
Native resolution is the projector’s maximum resolution. The majority of large venue projectors native resolution is WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels, 16:10 aspect ratio) but 4K UHD resolution is becoming more popular. Supported resolution is the range of resolutions that the projector can display. Some projectors can support a higher resolution than their native resolution, but this will result in a loss of image quality. Check projector specifications to see if this is supported if your content resolution is higher than WUXGA resolution or consider a projector with 4K UHD resolution.
How much does a commercial projector cost?
The cost of a large venue commercial projector will vary depending on the type of projector, whether is ships with or without a standard lens, the brightness, the resolution, and the features. Expect to pay as a minimum from £2500 upwards.
