Epson EH-LS7500

The lens is the reason the Epson EH-LS7500 exists. At 1.00-1.31: it is short throw, which puts a 100 inch image up from a little over two metres, so the projector can sit at the front of a room rather than behind the seating or halfway down the ceiling. For a lounge, a converted loft or any space where there is simply nowhere to put a projector at the back, that changes what is possible. Native contrast is 1,900 to 1, around three times the figure of the entry models in the range and the number that decides how a dark scene reads.


Despite being the flexible one in the range, the LS7500 is properly specified for installed work: RS232 and Ethernet alongside two HDMI inputs with eARC, support for AMX and Control4, and Matter for the domestic side. Manual lens shift of 59% vertically and 21% horizontally means the short throw does not come at the cost of placement freedom. Three things to point out. Zoom is 1.3x rather than the 1.62x on the longer throw models, so the distance band is narrower and wants measuring. The image range tops out at 300 inches rather than the 500 quoted elsewhere in the range. Finally the 4K UHD image on the Epson EH-LS7500 comes from 0.62 inch Full HD panels with pixel shifting rather than native 4K panels.
