Native resolution is the reason to look at the BenQ LW600ST+. It is WXGA at 1280 by 800, a 16:10 shape rather than widescreen, which matches what most laptops output and gives documents and spreadsheets more usable height than 16:9 does. In a classroom or a meeting room showing mostly text and slides, that shape is more useful than extra pixels. The light source is four colour LED with no wheel and no lamp, rated at 20,000 hours in normal mode or 30,000 in eco, measured to the point where output has halved rather than to failure, and the cabinet is filter free, so there is nothing to service.

The short throw lens with a 0.72 – 0.87 : 1 ratio and 1.2x manual zoom, filling a screen from close range is straightforward. Automatic keystone with corner adjustment handles the squaring up of the image should the projector not be square on to the screen. There is no optical lens shift, only a digital image shift, so a fairly central position suits it best. Input lag is 33.4ms, fine for presenting but not for anything simulator based. The HDMI inputs are version 1.4, so no HDR and no high refresh support. If the room only ever shows slides from a laptop, none of that matters and the BenQ LW600ST+ is a good choice. If it might be asked to do more, the step up to the 1080p model LH600ST+ is the better call.
