BenQ LH600ST+

The BenQ LH600ST+ runs on a four colour LED light source rather than a laser or a lamp. The light source is rated at 20,000 hours in normal mode or 30,000 in eco with nothing to replace along the way. That rating is measured to the point where output has fallen by half rather than to failure, which is how these figures are always quoted. The cabinet is filter free as well, so the maintenance list is genuinely empty. At 2.65kg it is light enough to move around, and the 0.69 to 0.83 short throw lens fills a large screen from close range, which is why it turns up in simulator bays and small rooms.



Setup is by 1.2x manual zoom and focus, with automatic keystone and corner adjustment to square the image. There is no optical lens shift, only a digital image shift, so the LH600ST+ wants a reasonably central position. Both HDMI inputs are version 1.4a, which caps the projector at 1080p and 60Hz and rules out HDR, so a modern console or 4K player is not a good match. BenQ also lists table and ceiling positions only, with modest tilt limits, so this is not one for unusual mounting angles. Inside those limits the BenQ LH600ST+ is easy to live with: 34dB in normal mode, 28dB in eco, 16.7ms of input lag and a 10W speaker.
