At 6,000 ANSI lumens, the BenQ AK900ST has the light output for screens that are genuinely wide and for rooms that stay lit. That matters more in a simulator than the number suggests, because a woven impact screen has to pass air and absorb ball strikes, so its gain sits below 1.0 and some of the light goes straight through the weave.

The AK900St features a Golf Scene Memory and a feature most likely to save time once the bay is running. It can store up to five complete display profiles (zoom, focus, lens shift, colour profile etc), so a screen used for simulator software in the morning, coaching content at lunch and Premier league football match in the evening can be switched by whoever is on shift in seconds, rather than a manager walking someone through a picture menu or everybody settling for one compromise setting. In a single bay with one screen and one use, that is something you set once and never open again.

Lens shift is generous on the AK900ST. 60% vertical and 23% horizontal is a lot of latitude. It moves the image on the screen optically, with nothing applied to the pixels, so the mount can sit off the screen centre line to clear a joist, a ventilation run or a lighting bar and still put a square picture up. Keystone correction solves the same problem in software and costs resolution and edge sharpness doing it, which is why a projector with real shift is easier to place in a room you did not design from scratch.

Auto Screen Fit 2.0 handles the rest of the set up. The image squares itself to the screen at one press, with motorised focus and zoom to finish, so a bay that gets knocked is a button rather than a ladder, a remote and ten minutes spent squinting at the screen edge.

Six native aspect ratios finish the job: 16:9, 16:10, 3:2, 4:3, 5:4 and 1:1, offered through EDID so the PC sees them as real display modes. That matters because impact screens are built to fit the enclosure rather than to a video standard, and simulator software rarely outputs a clean 16:9. Without the ratio you need, you are choosing between black bands down the sides, a stretched image, or a custom resolution built in the graphics driver that the sim software may or may not respect, and that tends to break again at the next driver update.
