This projector is now end of life - it has been replaced by the Sanyo PLV-Z800Built-in Full HD panel, 1920 x 1080. Enjoy high quality and high resolution from the latest sources, such as Blu-ray and HD digital broadcasting. Bring cinema-like style to home with large-screen projection.Powering on the unit - a nice touch is the motorised lens cover which slides open to reveal the lens and slides closed when you turn the projector off keeping unwanted dust particles at bay. For a projector of this price - the PLV-Z700 truly punches above its weight - bringing up the menu settings on the projector provides access to extensive list of user adjustments which cannot be match by other 1080p projectors in and around this price point.Zoom lens and Lens ShiftLike the 6 previous Z series models, the Sanyo PLV-Z700 uses the long 2.0x zoom lens. Again like its predecessors, this unit has a full three picture heights of vertical Lens Shift, and two full picture widths of horizontal shift. That means you can install the Z700 pretty much anywhere you want. The Z700 has the longest zoom range/lens shift than any other 1080 projector. The new variable iris on the PLV-Z700 can control lens iris adjustment every 1/60th of a second.Designed to permit fast acting lens adjustment, and adjusts to the optimal level automatically.Rapid adjusting lens means more dynamic, deep and rich black color reproduction.Iris noise has been reduced so that quiet or silent scenes are better enjoyed.Great for watching sports games/matches or movies. For us, the Sanyo PLV-Z700 is our projector of choice in the entry level 1080p arena.
