The PLV-Z3000 features Sanyo's Smooth Motion system which can be switched on or off at the user's decision. Smooth Motion is Sanyo's name for frame interpolation.
Essentially what it does is look at the motion changes in two sequential frames of film, and then produces an interim frame. The result- smoother motion when the camera is panning, or when an object is moving across the screen at a moderate rate. Ideal if you watch a lot of action movies of sport.
Zoom lens and lens shift
Like the 6 previous Z series models, the Sanyo PLV-Z3000 uses the long 2.0x zoom lens. Again like its predecessors, this unit has a full three picture heights of vertical lens shift, and two full picture widths of horizontal shift. That means you can install the Z3000 pretty much anywhere you want. The Z3000 has the longest zoom range/lens shift than any other 1080 projector.
For us, in this price range the Sanyo Z3000 is the frst choice. Out of the box settings for us needed a little tweaking, but once adjusted it has the onboard processing power to deliver a genuinely beautiful picture.
Please be aware that there are some import models of this projector being sold in the UK. These models do not have a valid UK warranty. We only sell UK stock.
Please note as with the vast majority of home cinema projectors - the chassis is a fairly large in comparison to business projectors. The Sanyo PLV-Z3000 dimensions are 146 x 400 x 346 mm (H x W x D).

The Sanyo PLV-Z3000 projector offers SANYO's proprietary TopazReal HD technology, which includes 14-bit digital processing and the real-focus HD lens system. TopazReal HD is a 3D color management system that address changes in color phase and color level to obtain perfect color reproduction, producing 1110 times more color combinations than 720p projectors, approximately 216 billion color combinations. This new color management system was designed to optimize the potential of Deep Color via the projectors two HDMI 1.3 inputs.
The PLV-Z3000 is the industry's first projector with a 5:5 pull-down mode, featuring 'Dynamic Predictive Frame Interpolation Technology' that utilizes speeds of 120Hz to increase the smoothness in video reproduction, even for scenes with extreme motion. This is accomplished by doubling the frame rate from 60 fps to 120 fps using interpolation frame generation technology. The interpolation technology predicts the motion differences between frames and generates five interpolated images to fill the gaps. This fast image processing improves overall resolution and eliminates motion artifacts. It also provides accurate reproduction of 24 fps source material, particularly from HD television broadcasts, allowing the look and feel of movie theater-quality from everyday broadcast programming.
Rated at 1200 ANSI lumens, the PLV-Z3000 projector is capable of an incredible 65,000:1 contrast ratio for superlative black levels and jet-black color reproduction, especially when ambient light is present. SANYO also introduces a new optical engine that incorporates an additional optical compensating plate to minimize polarized light leakage, which increases contrast ratio.
Outfitted with the industry's most advanced lens shifting function, and coupled with the projector's short throw capability and 2x zoom, the PLV-Z3000 projector creates a large screen image in any size room and from virtually any location. The lens shifting function allows wide-range vertical shifting to three screen sizes and horizontal shifting to two screen sizes. The design is capable of projecting a 100-inch diagonal image from 10 to 20 feet away, making the PLV-Z3000 extremely suitable for average size home theaters.
The PLV-Z3000 is equipped with a quiet fan, a large aperture, low noise Sirocco cooling type that never rises above 19dB in the economy mode. It promotes greater enjoyment by reducing noise levels during quiet passages of a film or television. This is critical because a high performance 1200 lumen projector can generate a tremendous amount of heat. At this level of brightness, the fan is 'on' most of the time and the noise can be extremely loud and disruptive, especially in smaller home theaters where the projector and the audience are in close proximity.
