The ZTE Smart Projector (Spro) has won a top award at this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC) event.

As part of a prestigious ceremony held at the Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, the produce was named the Best Mobile Enabled Consumer Electronics Device by the GSMA.

The ZTE Smart Projector has been touted as the world's first all-in-one smart portable projector and is able to provide as many as eight users with anytime Wi-Fi anywhere access at 4G LTE speed.

Steven Mao, vice-president of ZTE Corporation and head of marketing at ZTE Mobile Devices, stated that the company is "delighted" to have won the Best Mobile Enabled Consumer Electronics Device prize at this year's MWC.

He said: "The ZTE team showed courage and vision to create an entirely new product category with the ZTE Spro. Our design and engineering teams have created a device that blends technology with practicality to offer consumers new ways to stay connected, be entertained, and be productive - all at the same time."

Mr Mao added that innovation is in the DNA of the company and that can be seen in its latest launches, including "system-level voice control in the Star 2 and eye print biometric unlocking technology in the Grand S3".

He said: "We are shaping the future of human interaction with smart devices, and it is a proud day for ZTE indeed."
