A new wireless adapter from projector specialists, InFocus, means that any projector or flat panel can become a wireless and networked display.
The InFocus LiteShow III is seamlessly compatible with any brand of display hardware and, with a fast VGA input, can easily share data, audio and video over secure wireless connections at speeds of up to 150 Mbps and with a range of 300 feet.
InFocus's product manager, Robert Detwiler, said, "InFocus LiteShow III is wireless connectivity and collaboration on steroids. Presenters can change the dynamics of meetings by enabling everyone, even smartphone and tablet users, to easily connect and display information."
He said that the LiteShow III would make wirelessly connecting a notebook or smartphone to a display as easy as connecting to a wireless hotspot.
The device can be used in three secure configurations: wireless display only, wireless display and internet connection, and wireless display, internet and secure network access. It allows computer connected to the network to share share visual information just like sending documents to a network printer
LiteShow III provides fast on-board video decoding, which does the heavy lifting instead of the presenter’s computer. This produces fast and clean display of HD video and audio regardless of connection speed or the computer’s processing power.
