Three days into December and the Christmas buzz is already deafening!
As calendars clicked on to December 1st, Christmas trees across the nation sprang up and the nation collectively reached for the mince pies. And with the festive excitement also comes the question: what presents am I going to buy people?
Well for those who are still looking for a gift for the friend or family member who ‘has it all’, what about a home cinema projector?
ProjectorPoint is taking a closer look at five of our top selling home cinema projectors to provide you with some extra information on what to look for if you’re buying a projector as a gift this Christmas.
BenQ W1080ST+
First up is one of our staff choices, the BenQ W1080ST+. Priced at £746.40, this is a great short throw projector with an excellent contrast ratio of 10,000:1. Given its low price, it’s really worth a recommendation based on the quality of its blacks and colour reproduction, which are top notch.
With a warranty of up to two years, it’s a great choice for a Christmas gift for any film fans out there.
Optoma HD50
Next up is an offer from Optoma, the HD50. This is a projector created with movie lovers in mind and offers an impressive 50,000:1 contrast ratio as well as native resolution of 1080 pixels. Again, this projector boasts two years return to base warrant cover and is currently available for £999.60.
Epson EH-TW6600
Another staff favourite, we have the Epson EH-TW6600. Jumping up a level in contrast ratio, this projector comes in at 70,000:1, but you’ll also need to break through the £1,000 price barrier to access it as it comes with a price tag of £1,068, although with LCD display technology, 2,500 ANSI lumens and 1080 pixel native resolution, it’s a price we think is well worth it.
BenQ W2000
It’s back to where we started for our final projector in this little Christmas roundup. The BenQ W2000 is priced at £790.80 and has a healthy 15,000:1 contrast ratio and of course the 1080 pixel native resolution you should have come to expect by now! This is one of the latest home cinema projectors from BenQ and it’s become very popular with film fans. A re[/cent review from TrustedReviews gave it eight out of 10 in its scoring and described it as having ‘beautiful cinematic colour tones and subtleties’.
In most cases, if you’re considering buying a projector for someone as a Christmas present then home cinema projectors tend to be the best way to go. They’ll help create new entertainment options and provide great entertainment for friends and family.
There are certainly other options, such as gaming projectors or pico projectors, but unless you know exactly what someone wants from their projector we’d suggest sticking with the home cinema route.
