From the latest range of 4K home cinema projector technology, comes the Sony VW760ES. If you’re in search of the very best then look no further.

The VW760 combines ultra-high definition 4K resolution with a range of other sophisticated technologies, to create the most immersive cinematic experience available, complete with rich colours and sharp contrast.

The Lowdown

With this announcement made at IFA in Berlin, Sony is out to prove that they're still on top of the game when it comes to 4K projection.

As the pioneer of this previously exclusive cinema technology for home viewing, Sony has consistently led the competition with their top of the range 4K projectors, and this latest model is no different.

The VW760ES is the top product in a range of new 4K high dynamic range (HDR) home cinema projectors. Using Sony's own SXRD panels, the big selling point here is of course the 4K resolution, which at 4,096 x 2,160 pixels clocks in at 9 million pixels per frame.

Unlike the other products in the range, the VW360ES and the VW260ES, the VW760ES uses a Z-Phosphor laser light source, creating longer lasting brightness and avoiding the need to change the bulb.

It's the absolute pinnacle of home cinema projection technology and offers not only the very best in performance but is also a lower maintenance option which provides up to 20,000 hours of uninterrupted entertainment.

Sony’s VW760ES specifications

Here is some of the exciting technology and features of the new VW760ES:

  • The device boasts the highest brightness of the latest range from Sony, at 2,000 lumens. This means a clear, sharp image with lots of contrast, even in a room where you can’t quite block out all of the ambient light.
  • It features HDR compatibility, which delivers higher contrast, and an expanded brightness range for sharper and more vivid colours. This technology allows for the purest possible interpretation of an image, faithful to the creator's vision.
  • The images are further heightened with TRILUMINOS colour technology, giving extra tone and texture to the images and specifically targeting those hard to produce colours like crimson, aqua and emerald to give an even definition across the entire colour palette. This is particularly useful in images with wide landscapes.
  • Motionflow technology allows for a smoother viewing experience, adding in extra frames to reduce blur where necessary, and keeping brightness consistent during fast-moving sequences.

As you would expect, connectivity is excellent; the device is fully HDMI and USB compatible – it'll work quickly and easily with your existing technology, and also includes an HLG system which will link to online and broadcast content, including Netflix, Amazon and YouTube.

What's more, at only 20kg, and with dimensions of 56 x 22.3 x 49.6, it's comparatively lightweight and compact, making installation easy and efficient.

Projectorpoint is among the first to have the Sony VW760ES in stock. The device is priced at £14,998.80 but with this level of image quality, this home cinema projector really is an investment for the long-haul.
