Vivitek said it will offer extended warranties on projectors bought for schools, colleges and other education establishments.
The Taiwan-based projector manufacturer made the announcement as it launched a new short-throw projector for the education market which comes with its new five-year product and three-year lamp warranty.
The D855ST features XGA resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio that will fit most interactive whiteboards. It is capable of achieving a 77in (1.95m) screen image at a projection distance of one metre (a throw ratio of 0.65:1).
The projector is 3D ready with a lamp life of 6,000 hours. It has full connectivity, including a microphone connection, a 10-Watt speaker, plus audio out and the ability to present wireless through the 12-volt trigger and the optional ViviNet wireless dongle.
