A projector specially designed for travel has been launched by Acer, it has been revealed.

The C110 is due to go on sale in the UK this August and weighs in at a convenient 175g, perfect for people who want to be able to transport their projector. It measures 110x85x25mm, allowing users to pack it away when carrying it between locations.

Acer has targeted people with ultraportable laptops or tablets. The company is hoping that individuals who travel a lot on business will pick up the product, which should fit in well with their lifestyle.

As for the technical aspects of the projector, it makes use of a DLP projection system and supplies a contrast ration of 1000:1, which projector reviews have noted is bright enough for small conferences and presentations.

The Acer C110 is capable of connecting to any USB device and does not require an external power source. Furthermore, the machine does not use a traditional projector lamp; instead it features a DLP LED lamp, which requires no warming up time, is mercury-fee and is rated for 20,000 hours of use before requiring a replacement.

This is the latest in a series projectors from Acer. By next year the company hopes to have eight options on offer, including some 3D models.
