The Touchjet Pond Projector was praised as the perfect solution to social learning at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Conference yesterday.
The projector, which turns any wall or table surface into an 80-inch interactive touch screen, allows for collaborative and cooperative learning in the classroom.
Students and teachers can interact with thousands of Android educational apps, offering everything from group reading sessions to integrated coding lessons.
The device has already received high praise from teachers who have used it with their students.
"The Pond is an instructional tool that allows learners to showcase their projects by making work visible and interactive," said teacher Diana McMillan. "I'm planning to write a grant and find the support I need to have this valuable tool in my classroom!"
Holly De Leon, educational specialist for Touchjet, said that while some curriculum is best taught through individual learning, other subjects benefit from student collaboration.
With the Touchjet Pond Projector, teachers and students can interact with videos, apps, photos and presentations on a large touch display. Moreover, its portable size makes it perfect for learning outside the classroom.
The president of Touchjet Tom Li Jiang and CTO Liu Zhen designed the Pond in an attempt to change how consumers interact with their devices and each other, opening the door for shared experiences.
