Sony’s brand new VPL-D100 and VPL-E200 series of projectors have been designed with a specific low energy focus, aimed at cutting energy consumption and extending the projectors’ lifetimes.

The six new projectors are primarily for the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME), corporate and education markets, and are likely to prove popular with organisations that are looking to cut down their energy consumption footprints.

Both of the ranges are equipped with energy cutting features, including an auto lamp dimming function, which allows a projector to detect whether it has been left on with only a static signal being fed. They also have a new auto brightness adjustment function, which automatically adjusts the brightness of the lamp’s output depending on the brightness of the projected image.

Sony Europe’s business and education product manager, Robert Meakin, said, “The new E and D Series projectors are feature-rich, reliable all-rounders that can be used in almost any business or education environment.

“We’ve designed them with a focus on eco-friendliness at the forefront and believe they will help organisations operate efficiently and effectively day-to-day, in the knowledge they’re not using energy-hungry kit.”

The new ranges are both due to be released for British consumers by mid-summer this year.
