Sony has announced a number of new additions to its line of professional projectors that promise high image quality, exceptional brightness and even better flexibility.

Its 3LCD series will also see the addition of three new projectors, each boasting a brightness of 4,200. These compact projectors will include the VPL-EW348, VPL-EW345 and VPL-EX345 models.

Thanks to a new BrightEra panel, each projector will be able to reproduce natural colour in rooms with bright lighting - eliminating many of the issues associated with conventional lamp-based projection.

Unlike many older models, the new laser projectors are designed to quickly turn on/off. The brightness ramps up in only seven seconds after the lamp is turned on, and a quick reboot mode allows users to reboot the projector in just one second.

The VPL-EW348 model also features a built-in HDBaseT interface, allowing for easy connectivity and lower total system costs.

The new projectors continue Sony’s approach of offering customers installation flexibility, with rear side lamp access for easier maintenance. They are also perfect for those seeking portability thanks to a lightweight design.

The launch date for the VPL-EW348 (WXGA with HDBaseT) is January 2016, while both the VPL-EW345 (WXGA) and VPL-EX345 (XGA) are expected later this year.
