Samsung used the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week to announce its new range of high-end home cinema devices, including its SP-A8000 1080p 3D Home Theatre projector.
The South Korean consumer electronics giant's director of display marketing, Young Bae, said that the projector could be worked with other home cinema components to recreate a nearly professional level cinema in people's living rooms, as well as creating an optimal environment for gaming.
"With the explosion in entertainment content from 3D films, television and video games and the increased availability of 3D capture devices like cameras and webcams, gamers, home entertainment enthusiasts and content creators are demanding more functionality from their display devices," explained Mr Bae.
As well as the projector, the company also unveiled a range of 3D computer displays and HDTV monitors available in 23- and 27-inch configurations. Based on Samsung's proprietary 3D display panel technology, the monitors offer hyper realistic 3D playback, making them ideal for immersion in console gaming or viewing action-packed video content.
The 1,000 ANSI lumen projector has a single-bulb, single-lens design and uses Samsung’s 3D engine. It can convert 2D content to 3D, creating realistic images and genuine 3D results.
