The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has awarded Optoma Technology the 2010 Mark of Excellence for its HD8600 home video projector.
The American award goes to companies that achieve outstanding standards with their home electronics and custom installation services.
Optoma is expected to be particularly pleased with the award as the projector is the only one valued under $15,000 to win the coveted prize.
"The HD8600 is a barrier-breaking product, and for custom installers and consumers shopping for a truly superb home theater projector, it deserves a very close look. We packed a lot of innovative thinking and technology into this new model, and we appreciate the judges' favourable response,” explained Jon Grodem, the senior director of product and marketing at Optoma.
The projector’s features include the innovative interchangeable lens function, which allows user to adapt the lens according to the dimensions of the home cinema in which it is being used. Optoma’s PureMotion2 technology also means the image is of top quality, while the unique calibration configuration allows installers to fine tune the settings to the user’s requirements.
Grodem added, "winning a Mark of Excellence award says unequivocally that Optoma has arrived as a top-tier video brand.”
