The new Optoma ML550 projector is a brand new offering in the ultra-portable business projector market, providing up to 500 ANSI lumens of brightness in a body that weights just 380g.
The new projector fits a wide range of advanced capabilities into its compact structure, most notable of which is a broad and versatile set of connectivity options. The projector has HDMI/ MHL for connection to mobile devices, a microSD card slot and USB port, as well as VGA Input/ Audio Out and significant built-in memory.
The projector has Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) technology to provide connectivity to a laptop, PC, games console or Blu-ray player.
Optoma’s head of product management, Justin Halls, said that the device has WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution and is able to generate images up to 100-inches on the diagonal.
“The Optoma ML550 sets the standard for ultra portable projectors, with a perceived brightness of an LED projector can be up to twice the brightness of an equivalent lamp based projector,” he explained. “Combined with the extraordinary life of LEDs, the ML550 will be clear and bright for many years to come.”
The projector can also be controlled from Android and iOS devices via the EZ View app, which allows for the wireless sharing of content as well as the transformation of the projector into a document camera for a more collaborative experience.
