Projector manufacturer Optoma has unveiled a new 22in LCD display for digital signage applications.

The display is available as either a touchscreen model (the OP1022WTDS) which has capacitive touchscreen technology from 3M, or non-touchscreen (the OP1022WDS). Both come with Optoma’s SignShow D5000 HD media player and software included free of charge.

The panels measure around 65mm (2.5in) deep and can be mounted horizontally or vertically.

The product’s display specifications include 1680 x 1050 (16:10) resolution, brightness of 300cd/m², a response time of 20ms and 178° viewing angles, which helps prevent image distortion and color shifting even at extreme angles.

There are two USB inputs, RS232 (Recommended Standard 232) and an auxiliary source device (TV tuner).

The package also includes Optoma’s SignShow InfoSAP Creator (LAN) so the panel can start screening messages in seconds and InfoSAP Admin (WAN) software for Windows, which allow users to remotely design, preview, publish and manage the scheduling of digital signage content and messaging.

By customising the screen layout and scheduled delivery, users can show a combination of video, graphics, time, message tickers and live database feeds or RSS feeds simultaneously.

The fanless displays have been designed to be economical with power and use less than 1W in standby.
