Odeon brings 4K projector technology to Bournemouth cinema goers
IMAX has long been the first and last word in innovation when it comes to top level projection technology in cinemas. But there are other players in the game as the latest news from Bournemouth demonstrates.

The town is to be the host to the largest Odeon screen on the South cost, a massive 18 metre by 10 metre feature to be hosted in the town's new Odeon multiplex.

Due to open in early 2017, the cinema will be part of the new West Central leisure development currently under construction on Exeter Road.

Interest in the new development is growing in the town and according to reports from the Bournemouth Daily Echo residents are excited to have access to some of the latest technology and the best viewing experiences when watching their favourite films.

Roger Marley, former manager with ABC cinema and a current Bournemouth councillor, remarked: “The new format must be exceptional quality. It's time the cinemas in Bournemouth moved on. This is going to be outstanding quality and to have a screen that's the size they suggest, it's got to be good.”

The technology behind the huge screen will be based on the ISENSE experience and will deliver high definition digital images from a 4K projector. According to Odeon, this projector setup should provide four times the resolution of standard projectors with almost nine million pictures displayed on screen for a brighter and more detailed picture.

Technology on this scale is really something to behold but the technology behind these projectors is filtering down to deliver better and better consumer products. The Sony VPL-VW320ES is one of the top 4K projectors on the market and certainly one that ProjectorPoint would recommend. It delivers true 4K resolution with incredible image quality and depth of colour.

For anyone considering investing in a home cinema projector, something like the Sony VPL-VW320E will make all the difference to your personal experience at home.
