A group of tech firms have banded together to create a new luxury bed which has a projector built in.

The king-sized four-poster bed, developed by a UAE-based designer, a Dubai IT company and a German firm, features a white frame and a 55-inch viewing screen, accompanied by a Mac mini projector.

The bed, which has been named the Qubic Theatre, was launched at the Hotel Show in Dubai last month and is being promoted by Pro Technology, The National reports.

The mattress for the luxury bed needs to be bought separately so it isn’t a budget buy, but many will undoubtedly agree that the high-tech decadence is well worth it. Further embellishments and customisations are also available, such as matching built-in cabinets and curtains.

The built-in projector features an integrated amplifier and offers 3D and HD projections. It can also stream wirelessly from smartphones and tablets, whilst wires are easy to tidy and hide away for a clutter-free experience.

An article in The National explains: "The artist Sinmar Al Said, who is also an interior decorator, designed the look and shape of the bed. Pro Technology and Sonic Chair, a German company behind a multimedia chair of the same name launched about seven years ago, managed the audio and wireless connectivity of the bed.”
