The UM Series is the brand new range of ultra-short-throw LCD projectors from NEC Display Solutions Europe, aimed at bringing enhanced interactivity and flexibility to modern classrooms.
The seven new projectors are based on the successful M Series. They now offer a throw ratio of 0.36:1, with no shadow or glare when working on an interactive whiteboard.
They provide up to 3,300 ANSI lumens of brightness, creating sharp and bright images even in bright daylight and come in XGA (1024×768) and WXGA (1280×800) resolutions. Their lamps last for up to 8,000 hours, reducing the overall cost of ownership.
The UM series projectors also have the option of coming with integrated interactivity based on Luidia’s eBeam technology. All of the models come with a very flexible wall-mount for ease of installation.
NEC’s Ulf Greiner said that the projectors have been developed to serve the constant evolution of the modern classroom, to boost learning efficiency.
He explained, “The new UM Series projectors offer teachers, professors and trainers intelligent, simple and flexible visual solutions for an optimum presentation of the learning content even for a large number of participants – and the ultra-short throw design means the path of the light from the lens to the image is guided so as not to cross the traditional space used by the teacher or presenter during presentations.”
