NEC adds two short-throw projectors to its M Series
US-based LCD display and projector solutions firm NEC Display Solutions has expanded its M Series with two new short-throw projectors that are ideal for medium-sized classrooms and corporate conference rooms with limited AV space.
The M300XS and M300WS are portable projectors that provide a 0.47:1 throw ratio, which makes for easier installation on a whiteboard or wall above the projector screen.
Delivering strong images to screens and whiteboards from less than 110cm away, the new projectors boast 3000 lumens brightness and a long lamp life of up to 5000 hours.
With the USB viewer option, there is no need to connect a lap-top or PC - users can simply present and display images stored as .jpgs from an external USB memory stick. Another handy feature is the virtual remote, which enables users to control the projector directly from a computer without the need for extra cables.
Anyone who needs to set up or pack away their projector with minimum fuss will like the quick start-up of just three to four seconds and the immediate shutdown with no cooling required.
Rich McPherson, NEC Display Solutions' product manager for projectors, said: "The recently introduced M Series is receiving rave reviews from industry members, and the addition of these two short-throw models to the lineup will round out our portable projector offering, making it accessible to a variety of our customer base.
"The M300XS and M300WS bring educators what they need in the classroom to operate smoothly from lesson to lesson, such as HDMI for high-definition video, variable audio-out to control sound from an external speaker with the projector's handheld remote control and the ability to place the projector as close as 1.8 feet (55cm) away from the screen."
