NEC adds an eco-friendly projector to portable line up

NEC Display Solutions of America has released a new portable LED projector designed to provide eco-friendly projection while remaining portable.

The NP-L102W has a brightness rating of 1,000 lumens, and provides a contrast ratio of 10,000:1 while remaining portable; weighing only 3.1 pounds, the projector is easy to transport and can be set up in small spaces.

The connectivity options for the NP-L102W include HDMI, VGA, wireless LAN and composite inputs. As well as this, it provides an SD card slot to enable the expansion of its 1GB internal memory up to 32GB.

NEC's latest 3D-ready projector features a WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution thanks to an integrated 0.45" DLP by Texas Instruments. Despite its small size, the device also includes colour correction presets to ensure correct display on non-white surfaces and built-in closed captioning technology.

Running on an LED light source with a life of up to 20,000 hours, the NP-L102W offers reduced running costs and eco-friendly projection. Rich McPherson, Senior Product Manager of projectors for NEC Display Solutions, said: “ECO Mode™ lowers audible noise and reduces the total cost of ownership – noteworthy benefits for the travelling professional.”

Expected to become available in February 2014, the L102W has an estimated price of $799 and will come complete with a two-year limited parts and labour warranty.
