Optoma has launched a new low-cost projector, designed to appeal to people who are keen to enjoy the benefits of such gadgets without breaking the bank.
The PT105 is the latest in the brand's PlayTime line of DLP projectors and boasts 75 lumens of brightness. It is also easy to use, allowing consumers to use it with most video gaming consoles, as well as Blu-ray and DVD players, set top boxes and computers.
In fact, any device that supports HDMI, VGA or composite video input should be able to function with the projector.
Jon Grodem, senior director of product and marketing at Optoma, noted that the response to the line has been “very strong”.
He added: “We’re expecting that the PT105’s increased power and connectivity, coupled with its affordable price, will appeal to a lot of consumers.”
The image delivered by the gadget might not be top notch, but it is 140 inches diagonal, delivers a WVGA resolution of 854 by 480 pixels and has a contrast ratio of 1,000:1.
Its projector lamp is also designed with the budget user in mind, with an efficient and economical LED light source installed that has a lifespan of over 20,000 hours.
