Francis Ford Coppola, the legendary director of The Godfather, has signed a deal with projector manufacturer SIM2 to help it develop a perfect home cinema projector - and to appear in its marketing campaigns.

Coppola is a longstanding fan of the Italian projector brand, which is known for producing premium quality home cinema-style projectors which are renowned for bringing a realistic cinema experience into domestic settings.

As a result of the deal, the director will appear in the promotional campaigns for the projectors but will also help the firm to create the kind of projectors that Hollywood producers are likely to buy. His technical team is also said to be involved.

Ford Coppola owns his own SIM2 projectors and even used one in the editing process for his new movie, Tetro. He stated, "I have owned many projectors in my life: SIM2 is now in both my studios and my home.”

Maurizio Cini, President of SIM2 Multimedia, added, “Mr Coppola, like SIM2, is a perfectionist always striving to be at the forefront of his craft. His productions are not just movies; they are real masterpieces.”

Posters promoting SIM2’s latest projectors featuring the bearded director are expected to pop up later in the year.
