JVC has received a glowing response to its newly released X55 and X95 projectors from industry review website, TrustedReviews.
One of the site’s projector experts, John Archer, said that the two models are among four new additions to JVC’s offerings, with the other two being the X35 and X75. TrustedReviews was given a comprehensive examination of the X55 and X95 models by JVC at their UK headquarters in North London.
The X55 has been designed to be a brand new addition to the JVC stable of products, after the brand realised that there was a gap in their provisions for a mid-range projector worth around £5,000. It features JVC’s second-generation e-Shift 4K technology, which puts images through two separate 1920x1080p imaging chipsets, increasing the pixel density of pictures to 3840x2160p.
It has an improved version of JVC’s polarising wire grid engine and a new Super High Pressure Lamp, which work to provide deep, rich blacks, brighter whites and generally impressive contrasts in its colour content.
The high-specification X95, which sits at the higher end of the JVC projector range, has a 130,000:1 native contrast ratio (the X75 has 90,000:1), which makes its colour and contrast quality utterly unparalleled when compared to the lower models.
Summing up the two projectors, which will be launched in the UK in November, Archer said, “The X55 threatens to really set the cat among the mid-range projection pigeons, while the X95 looks set to be simply flat out stupendous.”
