Technology experts assessing the success of June's Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Home Technology Event have said it turned into a perfect platform for the display and demonstration of some of the most cutting-edge technology.

Patrons were able to view and try-out the most modern home cinema developments, including the latest projectors and devices offering Blu-ray 3D viewing at the ICC London ExCeL centre.

CEDIA Chairman for Region 1, Robert Hallam, said the show's role as a business and innovation portal was more assured than ever.

“After a challenging 2009, it was clear to me that the industry is back on track and looking forward to the future with greater confidence and optimism," he said.

"This show remains the single biggest gathering for the industry in the UK and the best annual meeting-place for doing business."

Highlights of the four-day event included the 3D demo area, which played to packed houses each and every day of the show, and the Wired for Technology outreach conference which attracted a sizeable audience of electrical contractors keen to find out what customized installation (CI) is all about.

More than 170 CI brands displayed at the event, which saw final attendance total 5,195 over the four days. Next year's event will return to ExCeL, running from June 20-23.
