According to new research, the projector market in both the EMEA and APAC regions enjoyed strong growth over the course of Quarter Three of this year.
The latest quarterly projector market update from Futuresource Consulting revealed a rise of nine per cent in the projector market in the APAC region. It also showed growth of two per cent across the EMEA region. This was driven in part by a rise of almost 40 per cent in the 5,000-7,000 lumens projector sector.
The growth figures in the EMEA projector sector represented a value of $676 million, and was said to be largely fuelled by the launch of new products from brands such as Epson, Panasonic and NEC. The large venue and installation projector segment was responsible for a good deal of this growth, the research reported.
There was also strong growth recorded in the interactive touch UST projectors segment, thanks to seasonal education purchasing. This area rose by 867 per cent to 17,000 units, making up 15 per cent of B2B short throw sales. This represented a major rise from less than two per cent 12 months ago.
Major demand for these devices was noted from smaller Gulf Cooperation Council states and the Czech Republic, although the Nordics and the European Union Five (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom) still accounted for the majority of the sales.
