Digital display experts, Q4 Services, has announced that it has successfully integrated an LED illuminated projector display system in a full flight simulator for the very first time.
The Orlando-based company announced the development at the 2010 I/ITSEC tradeshow, which is the world's largest modeling, simulation and training conference, and took place in Florida last week.
The piece of technology developed in the integration saw Digital Projection International’s (DPI) M-Vision Cine LED projector display system installed on a B-737 NG simulator, resulting in the groundbreaking Q-Vue600™ display system. The company chose the M-Vision Cine LED projector for the work because of DPI’s unparalleled development of the DLP® and LED technology.
When combined, the DLP and LED operations can now provide a Lifetime Illumination system of more than 60,000 hours, together with the high uniformity characteristics of DLP.
The signature features of the M-Vision LED projector - including high color stability and color saturation along with low power needs and a low heat signature - provided a crucial basis for Q4 Services’ development and implementation the Q-Vue600™.
The projector provides a native resolution of 1080p, with significant installation flexibility for commercial and military simulation display systems.
