New international research has predicted strong growth in terms of the global demand for cinematographic cameras and projectors between 2014 and 2018.

The recently published research – which was carried out by international market research company, Global Research & Data Services – forecast 5.8 per cent growth in the sector over the next four years.

The countries which currently see the highest level of demand across the sector are China, Germany, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, the research found.

Meanwhile, the highest level of growth was expected to be seen in Greece (23.7 per cent), Morocco (22.1 per cent), Sri Lanka (20.1 per cent), Slovenia (19.2 per cent), and Ireland (18.9 per cent).

The projected growth level far outweighs the level recorded between 2007 and 2013, when a growth of just 3.1 per cent was witnessed.

Currently, parts and accessories for cinematographic cameras and projectors make up 58.1 per cent of the sector’s global demand, followed by cinematographic projectors (32.6 per cent), cinematographic cameras (film width >16mm) (8 per cent), and cinematographic cameras (film width <16mm) (1.3 per cent).
