Epson Home Cinema Projectors: Great Prices and Even Greater Tech

Those of you who pay attention to our blog will probably have noticed that we spend a lot of time talking about the “accessible” projector market. And rightly so, seeing great technology get more and more affordable is one of the most exciting things about this industry. There’s a huge range of great projectors out there at lower than ever prices.

But of course, the accessible market is an entry point to much more … if you’ve got the cash. Customers with that little bit more budget to play with often want to find out just how significant an upgrade they can get without a significant upgrade in price (look at Sony for native 4K!).

For the mass market, Epson’s home cinema projectors are leading the pack, offering some of the best deals around for people with moderate budgets keen to get the best tech for their money.

If the time is finally right for you to rejig your home cinema setup, then Epson could well be what you’re looking for. Here are some of their best projectors for under £3,000.

Epson EH-TW6700

The Epson EU-TW6700 is a great piece of cutting edge technology at a price low enough to make BenQ just a little bit nervous. Full HD resolution, 3,500 hours of lamp life and a contrast ratio of 70,000:1 are attributes to find all in one package at just a nudge under £1,300.

Whoever goes forth and buys this projector will also be the proud owner of the only projector in its price range to include both vertical and horizontal lens shifting. This gives you an extra level of flexibility when installing your device, as it allows you to nudge the final projected image in either direction.

If that wasn’t enough, the model is also available as a wireless version. It’s almost identical to the wired model – just with that added level of ease of use and flexibility on installation. Wireless technology hasn’t historically had the best reputation, but we’re impressed by Epson’s work here.

Specifications:
  • Brightness: 3,000 lumens
  • Resolution: 1920×1080 (HD)
  • Lamp Life: 3,500 hours
  • Contrast Ratio: 70,000:1
  • Price: £1,254.00 (Incl. VAT)

Epson EH-TW7300

If you’re looking towards the upper end of the £3,000 budget, your expectations might well be to get a 4K projector. And luckily, with upscaling technology designed to create dazzling 4K images, there’s never been a better time to lay your hands on a stunning 8.3 million pixels on your projector screen.

With the Epson EH-TW7300 you get a significant step-up in technology for less than you’d think. Add the resolution quality up with the contrast ratio – an impressive 160,000:1 – and you’ve got yourself a projector setup to be proud of.

Specifications:
  • Brightness: 2,300 ANSI lumens
  • Resolution: 3840×2160 (Upscaled UHD)
  • Lamp Life: 3,500 hours
  • Contrast Ratio: 160,000:1
  • Price: £2,199.60 (Incl. VAT)
Includes:
  • LCD Display Technology

Epson TW9300

If you’re already sold on the 7300, then hold your horses for a moment and compare the TW7300 to the TW9300. The Epson EH-TW9300 is the most impressive piece of technology in its price range by a country mile. This model creates similarly upscaled 4K images, but adds into the mix an even more impressive contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 (you read that right – that’s one million to one), and the premium function that lets you switch seamlessly between HDR1, HDR2, HDR3 and HDR4 compatibility.

Like the 6700 model, this also comes with a wireless variant. The wireless function is similarly impressive compared the rest of the industry. In short, if you’ve got the full £3,000 budget to dedicate to your dream home cinema – this should be a strong contender.

Specifications:
  • Brightness: 2,500 ANSI lumens
  • Resolution: 3840×2160 (Upscaled UHD)
  • Lamp Life: 3,500 hours
  • Contrast Ratio: 1,000,000:1
  • Price: £2,199.60 (Incl. VAT)
