Christie's supplies projectors for Toronto Sail-in Cinema event
Following on from last week, we thought we’d explore what other companies are doing to their spaces. As the summer months draw to a close, open space and projectors sound like a dream opportunity.

Over in Canada, four Christie digital projectors will be used to change Toronto’s Sugar Beach into an outdoor cinema in time for the annual Sail-in Cinema event. The event will be held for three days - 18-20 August.

Christie's, as a major sponsor of this year’s event, will use four Christie HD14K-M projectors. This offers built-in warping and blending of images as well as colour matching capabilities. The projectors offer up to 13,500 lumens in brightness.

The event will be shown on a two-sided, four-storey screen mounted on a barge on the scenic Lake Ontario. It will be the sixth annual event of the Sail-In Cinema and in 2015, was the largest on record, with over 11,000 people on land in attendance over the three-day period.

Speaking of the sponsorship, Deborah Wilson, Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs for PortsToronto, said: “PortsToronto is thrilled to have Christie digital onboard this summer as a major Sail-In Cinema sponsor. With four Christie cinema-quality digital projectors and custom configured audio in place, this year’s event promises to delight audiences with beautiful, crisp images of their favorite movies.”
