Projector manufacturer Christie has unveiled a new 4K projector designed to fulfill the growing demand for 4K capabilities outside of cinema applications.

The brand lifted the lid on its new Christie Twist 4K projector at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) 2012 in Amsterdam last month. The model is aimed at business applications and allows for the warping, blending and colour matching of multi-projector displays in large-screen, fixed installation applications.

Christie product manager, George Tsintzouras, said it is likely to prove a popular option for use in amusement parks, automotive designs, museums and planetariums, where exceptionally large images are required.

“Whether it’s a flat or curved surface, with Christie Twist 4K, ProAV professionals can now blend and colour match images from multiple 4K projectors – easily creating large, ultra-high resolution canvasses that will amaze audiences like never before,” he explained.

The projector is equipped with Quad DVI input, allowing for the use of standard DVI sources.

Tsintzouras added, “With Christie Twist 4K, Christie expands its 4K solution offering and gives end users the ability to create large, high-pixel density panoramas that show their content with the finest detail, without distortion.”
