Casio has announced the launch of a new projector to add to its range of audio-visual products.

The company revealed that the EcoLite XJ-V1 is aimed at educators and business professionals, who will get the ability to enjoy many of the benefits of Casio's LampFree projectors in a package that is more affordable.

Joe Gillio, product management director of Casio's business projector division, stated that the idea to produce the EcoLite XJ-V1 came when the company realised there was an opportunity to "extend the reach of our top-quality projectors to a broader range of users".

He added: "The new EcoLite model combines Casio's industry-leading LampFree technology with essential features from our most popular projectors into a unit that still delivers the functionality and low total cost of ownership that users expect."

Casio's fifth generation laser and LED Hybrid Light Source technology is used the power the EcoLite XJ-V1 projector, which boasts a 20,000 hour estimated lifespan with minimal brightness degradation and continuous operation.

It also has a throw ratio of 1.54-1.7: 1, produces 2,700 lumens of brightness and has an XGA (1024 x 768) resolution that is suitable for displaying content from video and computer sources. Inputs for RGB and HDMI are included in the device and it also includes a Variable audio output for external audio.

Power consumption with the projector set to the brightest setting is only 180 watts and eco modes are able to reduce power consumption by up to 50 per cent.
