Canon has unveiled four brand new projectors that it says represent the new compact installation projector market category.
The four new devices are small in size but still offer what Canon claims is 'market-leading image quality' and features. The projectors – which fall under the brand’s XEED series of projectors – are scheduled to be launched to consumers in late 2013, although no more specific date has been set.
The range includes two standard models – the XEED WUX450 and XEED WX520 – and two short-throw models – the XEED WUX400ST and XEED WX450ST. The two standard models have a 1.8x zoom projection lens with a constant aperture of F2.8, while the short-throw models have a specific short-throw lens that is able to create an image of up to 100 inches in size from just 1.2 metres away.
Julian Rutland, Canon’s Projector Product Strategy and Planning Director, said, “Within the segment, nothing comes close to the quality and brightness offered by the new XEED Compact Installation series. Our partners can now offer a compact projector with comparable features and performance to larger installation models, allowing greater flexibility when meeting the needs of customers.”
