BenQ’s MS517 SmartEco Projector is compact in size but comes with a “large and competent” image, according to a new review of the device from Gadget Review.

The projector has a full range of inputs meaning that it can be used with a games console, laptop, Blu-ray player and cable box. Film enthusiasts will also be interested to learn that it is capable of projecting a 3D image, making it perfect for screening movies at home.

The resolution of this bulb-driven projector is SVGA (800 x 600) and the device functions with digital light projection (DLP) technology.

It boasts manually operated zoom and focus controls, as well as a detailed touch control panel. The projector also offers a short throw lens, which is capable of projecting an image of up to 50 foot in size from less than 8 feet away. It is also very light-weight, making it easy to transport and pack away.

BenQ’s MS517 SmartEco Projector is “a capable front projection system that is well suited for use in portable situations,” reported Gadget Review, and is priced at around £220, making it affordable for home cinema enthusiasts and business users alike.
