A pocket camcorder which has just been released by Taiwanese consumer electronics developer, BenQ, incorporates a tiny pico projector into its compact features.

The BenQ DV S11 is a digital video recorder, barely bigger than a smartphone, that features a tiny projector lens on the side which is capable of replaying the videos it has captured in pictures that are up to 50 inches in size.

The tiny camera allows users to take 1080p HD videos in 10 preconfigured and specific shooting models, including Auto, Night, Sports, Landscape, Portrait, Sunset, Sand/Snow, Flower, Fireworks and Water.

Operated via a 3.5 inch touchscreen display on the back, the camcorder-projector combination also offers a three-second pre-record function. This means that users will not miss any peripheral content, as the camera records three seconds of content even before the record button is pressed.

Uploading the content on to other devices could not be easier, either, with an HDMI output socket that allows the camera to be hooked up directly to an HD television set.

The device comes in three colours - orange, red and black - and has so far only been released in Hong Kong. Release dates for the device in other territories will be announced imminently.
