Projector manufacturer BenQ has announced new terms for the warranties covering its projector lamps in the UK and the rest of Europe.
All BenQ projectors bought after 1 February 2010 are covered by the new rules, which will guarantee the lamp for a year of use, or for 2,000 hours of operation – whichever comes first.
This news will be welcomed by consumers who enjoy BenQ’s products as the new policy extends the warranty, which previously covered projector lamps for 90 days or 6 months.
The one-year guarantee covers the lamps from the day the projector or the lamp was purchased. There is no limit to the claims made within the warranty period and is valid for the purchase of all current projectors and projector lamp models.
BenQ does, understandably, point out that if someone makes multiple lamp claims, their lamps may be subject to repair and the claims may be evaluated.
BenQ is a leading provider of projectors for use in the home cinema market and for board meetings, education and corporate uses. Its brand promise is “Bringing Enjoyment and Quality to Life.” As well as digital projectors it also manufactures LCD monitors, digital cameras, LCD TVs, laptops, mobile phones and keyboards.
