    Barco has announced it is set to showcase its latest digital cinema projector at an upcoming event.

    The manufacturer revealed that the new flagship DP4K-60L laser projector at the 2015 NAB Show, the world's largest media and entertainment content delivery exhibition.

    Taking place in Las Vegas, the projector will go on display at the Technology Summit on Cinema: Building the Future of Storytelling on 11 and 12 April.

  2. Cinepolis selects Barco projectors for Latin America

    Barco projectors have been selected by Cinepolis for its planned upgrades to cinemas across Latin America.

    The DP4K-60L laser projector has been selected because of its superior image quality and technological superiority, with the latest deal between Barco and Cinepolis building on the partnership between the two companies that was set up in 2011.

  3. Barco announces Indian distribution deal

    Projector manufacturer Barco has announced it has signed a distribution deal with an Indian company that should further the spread of its products across the country.

    The agreement with Mumbai-based Green Sources means that the firm will now become the national distributor of Barco's audio-visual (AV) products in India.

  4. Barco celebrates Polycom Technology Partner Innovation award

    Projector manufacturer Barco is celebrating after the firm was picked out as the winner of a Polycom Technology Partner Innovation award.

    The prize was given to the firm as part of the recent TEAM Polycom 2015 event, the company's annual partner conference, which took place in Orlando, Florida, earlier in the month.

    Barco's Technology Partner Innovation Award was partly given to the company for its ClickShare product, which enables high-quality screen sharing and remote collaboration.

  5. Barco announces launch of quietest laser phosphor projectors

    Barco has announced the launch of what it claims are the quietest laser phosphor projectors available on the market.

    The 1-chip DLP projectors, which are available in two models – with WXGA or WUXGA resolution – produce less than 35 decibels of noise according to the manufacturer.

    Barco also stated that the laser phosphor light source used on the new projectors offers a 20,000-hour lifetime, which also takes away the burden of regular maintenance.

  6. Barco signs projector deal with AED display

    Projector manufacturer Barco has signed a lucrative new deal with European rental company AED Display at its booth at ISE 2015.

    Under the new contract, AED is set to purchase 20 Barco HDF-W30 FLEX projectors, making it the first European rental company to invest in the new devices since their launch last week.

    The agreement also includes the upgrade 40 of AED Display's HDF-W26 projectors to 30,000 lumens, increasing quality of the firm's Barco product range as it cements its important role in Europe's AV market.

  7. Barco launches new DLP projector

    Barco has announced the launch of a new DLP projector, which the company is targeting at events and large venues.

    The firm revealed that the HDF-W30 FLEX is a three-chip DLP, 30,000 lumens model with WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) resolution.

    Richard Marples, Barco's strategic marketing director for venues and hospitality, explained that Barco is already the industry leader for projectors for large events and the launch of the new HDF-W30 FLEX will ensure the company holds its position at the top of the pile.

    Auviso audiovisual solutions, one of Switzerland’s leading players in the event equipment and services market, has confirmed the purchase of Barco projectors.

    The company announced that it has bought 14 high-brightness Barco projectors in a bid to raise its rental fleet to new levels of performance.

  9. Barco laser projectors installed across Europe

    Barco's latest laser projectors have been fitted at cinemas across Europe.

    The installation of the firm's DP4K-60L laser projector came just in time for the release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, with the premiere taking place at the Kinepolis flagship cinemas in Lomme, France.

    Barco's new technology has also been selected for both Kinepolis Madrid and Kinepolis Brussels, with Eddy Duquenne, chief executive of Kinepolis Group, describing the laser projector as "amazing" and stating that there is "nothing like this on the market".

  10. Barco adds new single-chip DLP projector to its lineup

    Barco has announced a new addition to its portfolio of projectors, with the new single-chip DLP projector, called the RLS-W12.

    The new device offers 12,000 lumens of brightness – WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) resolution – as well as extended warping and blending and HDBaseT technology, which will allow it to provide video over a single Cat 5 cable.

    The projector is being aimed at medium-sized venues and live events, as a result of its optional rental frame, which makes it ideal for the staging market.
