Bang & Olufsen and SIM2 projectors boost home cinema market
The home cinema sector looks set to benefit from a new agreement which will see SIM2 projectors sold as a supplement to Bang & Olufsen products.
Danish firm Bang & Olufsen – which creates high-end video and audio products - finalised the deal with Italian manufacturer SIM2 Multimedia at the recent IFA show held in Berlin.
The show - which is known as the leading trade show for home appliances and electronics aimed at the consumer market - was the ideal backdrop for the deal to be struck between the Danish firm and SIM2, which specialises in the creation of projectors for the home cinema market and also for professional applications.
The new agreement between the two heavyweights will see SIM2 projectors available for sale at Bang & Olufsen's 900 stores located across the globe.
The DLP-based projector models from the SIM2 Multimedia range will be on sale alongside other product offerings, with both firms telling CEPro that the new partnership would ‘create a wider product offer and a cutting edge marketing proposal, to meet the growing requirements of the demanding customers for the home entertainment.'
Managing director for Bang & Olufsen in South & Central Europe, Jakob Odgaard, told the publication, “SIM2 projectors are a perfect match to the Bang & Olufsen audio and video products for creating the right Home Cinema experience.”
