The development of a new app for Apple devices looks set to improve the usability of the Coolpix S1200pj camera.

The camera, which boasts 10.1 pixels and has a built-in nanoprojector, projects images to a size of around 60 inches and has a brightness of 20 lumens.

However, while the gadget's uses were previously somewhat limited, the Nikon iP-PJ Transfer app for iPad, iPhone and the iPod Touch will now allow consumers to easily shift their Apple content directly to the camera for projection.

It is hoped that this will improve the functionality of the camera and encourage people to use the in-built projector to show off their content while on the go.

Unfortunately, there are some limitations to the nanoprojector. It is unclear whether or not the device is capable of streaming videos at the moment and any images will be automatically scaled down to the projector's native resolution of 1024x768.

But so long as both devices are joined up to the same wireless network it should provide a handy little app to increase the possibilities of the camera and its projector.
