Projector manufacturer Acer is celebrating after one of its audio-visual products won the iF Design Award 2015 of Germany.

Acer's C205 LED projector was picked out as the winner ahead of 5,000 entries from 53 countries.

The pocket projector is extremely lightweight but still boasts an array of top features including wireless projection capabilities.

Acer, which was the world's number three brand for projectors worldwide in 2014, explained that the C205 LED projector is "ideal for people who want to be able to project on the move".

The judges of the iF Design Award 2015 of Germany prize were particularly impressed with the product's functionality, as well as its universal design.

With a small footprint of just 144 x 108 mm and a weight of a mere 0.3 kg, the Acer C205 LED projector is one of the lightest and most efficient pocket projectors that is currently on the market.

"The C205 LED projector offers a high brightness of 200 lumens and a fine contrast ratio that provides clear graphics and beautifully vivid colours," said Acer.

It was also pointed out by the firm that the powerful 2 x 2W speakers that are included in the C205 LED projector mean its sound quality is just as impressive as the images it generates.

Acer has won a number of prestigious awards for its audio-visual products of late, with the firm being voted South Africa's favourite projector brand at the 2014 Channelwise Awards by Channelwise magazine.
