Mitsubishi HC6000

Having received an evaluation unit from Mitsubishi we were keen to fire it up. First observation is that the Mitsubishi HC6000 is noticeably smaller than the eagerly awaited Sanyo PLV-Z2000. Noise wise, like the Z2000 they truly are whisper quiet at 19db.

Having spent minimal time tweaking the brightness, contrast and a minor adjustment to the colour settings we were ready to watch the HD DVD version of Bourne Supremacy. We were very very impressed with the Mitsubishi HC6000 results.

Skins tones are as lifelike as you could want and image detail razor sharp down to blades of grass in the jungle chase scenes (as you would expect from 1080p source/projector).

But the unanimous feature that sets the HC6000 apart from the competition to date is the black level - put simply it is 'breathtaking'. We did a side by side comparison of the HC6000 and the PLV-Z2000...we will let the pictures speak for themselves.

UPDATE : Monday 8th September 2008

The Mitsubishi HC6000 is shortly due to go end of line. The direct replacement will be the Mitsubishi HC7000, we plan to sell our demo unit so if you are after a deal on one please give us a call.
