review Recently we held a side by side shoot out of the Epson EMP-TW1000 and its rival in this price range the Sanyo PLV-Z2000 using the HD DVD version of Fast and the Furious : Tokyo Drift.
Straight out of the box the TW1000 has the advantage both for looks and physical size.
From the opening credits the Z2000 was playing catch up with the EMP-TW1000 on greyscale, being noticeably more visible. Colour wise the Z2000 was a bit too saturated for our liking straight out of the box and did need some tweaking with regards to the colour temp and reducing reds. The Epson EMP-TW1000(for us) needed no adjustments except to decide on which image preset to use.
Image quality wise both were pin sharp but we wer expecting nothing less feeding them both with a 1080p siginal.
Lens Shift/Zoom range was very impressive indeed on both models with the Z2000 just pipping the Epson to the post with a larger zoom range.
