BenQ already have a strong reputation the home cinema market with the very popular W1070+, out of the box the BenQ W2000 is a fantastic looking projector even before its switched on! Turn the unit on and the Rec.709 image preset ( the true colour standard for high definition television) really does make the image pop with vibrancy and produce images that are crisp, perfectly saturated with deep blacks, images that got the thumbs up from the whole team here at ProjectorPoint.
Only projector displays that conform to the Rec. 709 standard can reproduce colors correctly in all images through an entire movie. While most projector manufacturers choose a saturated color tone bias to increase colorfulness, resulting in color accuracy loss, the BenQ W2000 achieves the Rec.709 color standard. The process of building a projector includes many variables such as lenses, lamps and color wheel coating. At BenQ they worked relentlessly to close any gaps from those variances and to make their projectors perform exactly to Rec. 709. For BenQ to stay at the top of their game in home cinema projectors for them they believe that colours matter to their users when enjoying movies as they were meant to be seen and they would be right! To get the best possible reproduction of Rec.709, BenQ’s ISF-trained expert engineers tried more than 20 different combinations of color segments and color wheel coatings, the factors that directly affect color gamut and brightness of a projector. BenQ home cinema projectors over the years have always had high build quality for the price point, and the BenQ W2000 continues this. Three color adjustment stations in the production line perform final checks on every single unit of the W2000 in Rec. 709 preset and then BenQ quality engineers perform final color tests on each projector built to ensure Rec.709 performance. The W2000 also features a low dispersion all glass lens something rarely ever found on sub £1000 projectors. Its inclusion really does bring that extra bit of clarity and fine detail to the image At this price point the W2000 is a projector that is impossible to beat both for design and image quality and the only projector to feature the Rec.709 image preset, expect to pay over twice the price to find this image preset on another home cinema projector. In a recent review over at TrustedReviews.com, they gave the BenQ W2000 a score of 8/10 and described the projector as having "Beautiful cinematic colour tones and subtleties." and "Strong, natural HD detailing." Having researched loads of projectors the BenQ W2000 kept coming out with everything I needed for a home cinema system. As this is my first system it was easily set up and the quality of the picture and sound is brilliant and Michael at projector point was very helpful when I needed advice. I would recommend this projector to anyone for home use.
