The Sony VPL-VW300ES has received rave reviews since its release at the end of last year, with one reviewer calling it a "home cinema beast".
The team at Tech Radar gave Sony's signature 4K projector a glowing review, concluding that it is the perfect option for film lovers looking to invest in a high-end projector.
Weighing 14kg and spanning 496x195x464mm, this projector is certainly not portable, but its professional quality makes it ideal for a dedicated home cinema room.
Boasting eight million pixels, the VPL-VW300ES offers 4K resolution that is four times greater than the more conventional 1920 x 1080 Full HD projectors. What's more, the projector's Silicon X-tal Reflective Display (SXRD) – a feature exclusive to Sony – ensures an ultra-fast response, meaning much of the 4K detail remains even during high-octane video.
Tech Radar also noted that "image perfectionists will love the VPL-VW300ES's endlessly tweak-able parameters". Users can take advantage of a colour-specific correction tool for saturation, hue and brightness, as well as colour-accurate Cinema Film, Game and Bright Cinema modes.
The VPL-VW300ES also comes with plenty of inputs, including two HDMI 2.0 inputs – one compatible with HDCP 2.2 – alongside a RS-232C for integrating the VPL-VW300ES into a in-room control system, an Ethernet LAN slot for hard-wiring it into a network, two 12V triggers and a USB slot.
The team at Tech Radar concluded that the Sony VPL-VW300ES deserves to "become the centrepiece of your next home cinema" owing to its exceptional image quality and professional performance.
